he was in a coma for three months. the alleged drunk drive is charged with drunk driving and recently prosecutors added new charges including causing a life threatening injury. he has a court appearance january 29th. according to the police report, he refused to take a breath liezer test which would determine the alcohol content in his blood and could have provided prosecutors with what they call compelling evidence. under maryland law, you can refuse a breath test. >> keep going. >> this is video of the state police with a volunteer demonstrating how it works. if police ask you to take it and you refuse, your driver's license can be suspended for four months. that's what happened to weridu. but he continued to drive. a judge found him guilty of that last week. right after our initial report, the state's attorney contacted the i team about efforts to take a tougher stance on drunk driving in maryland. >> i think our current law is inadequate. >> ideally the breath test would be mandatory. at the very least he supports
